Mai Izumitani is a yoga teacher and ceramicist who weaves movement, mindfulness and creativity as one holistic practice. She hosts thoughtfully curated experiences by holding space for those who crave slowing down in a rushed world, educating and making traditional yoga teachings more accessible to the contemporary life.
Mai was born and raised in both London and Poland, after her parents migrated from Japan to Europe in the 90’s. Her Japanese heritage is still very much deeply embedded in her work, using art as a form of identity. She later graduated with a BA(Hons) in Fashion Design and worked with several brands before switching gears to slower practices in yoga and pottery. There is a heavy focus on minimalism and the harmonious value of everyday rituals - reflecting her belief in simplicity and balance. With a strong emphasis on community, she fosters connection through both modalities, creating spaces for shared expression and grounding.
Mai teaches both in the UK and internationally on retreats, at festivals and events working with clients such as lululemon, GQ, Soho House, Dazed, GAP, Adanola, Free People and more. She is currently a regional lululemon Ambassador for London.
